Randa has been advising at BYU since 2014 and is passionate about helping students discover what is possible through education. As a first-generation college student herself, she understands that higher education can be transformative. Not only opening doors to opportunities and careers, but also helping students develop confidence, discover their strengths, and envision a future they may not have imagined for themselves. She believes every student deserves to feel that they belong in college and to have the support, resources, and encouragement needed to make the most of their educational experience.

Randa comes from a background in elementary education, with an emphasis in dyslexia research. A native of Utah County, she graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Sociology and earned a Master of Academic Advising from Kansas State University. Her work at BYU has centered on helping students navigate the complexities of college, recognize their potential, and develop the skills needed for long-term success. She is especially passionate about creating a student experience where students feel known, connected, and empowered to take ownership of their education.

Randa and her family bleed BYU blue (5 of the 7 either work or attend BYU) and enjoy supporting the Cougars at the many events on campus. Randa has never met a street taco she didn't like, believes the band section at football games is the best seat in the stadium, sings along to more musicals than she will ever admit to, and could be a professional traveler.

To give back to the professions she loves, Randa regularly serves on committees and presents on topics related to personal development, belonging, student success, and advisor training. She is excited to be part of the Student Success Team.
